Pass it on - Pebbles at Hotel Milo
At Milo Hotel, you can come across unique, colorful stones – small works of art that are part of an international initiative called rock painting or kindness rocks movement. Its goal is to share positive energy and build a sense of community in a simple but incredibly effective way.
The idea was born in the United States around 2015 when artist Megan Murphy began leaving painted stones with inspiring quotes on beaches in Massachusetts. Over time, the movement spread worldwide — from Australia to Europe — and today thousands of people in various countries create and exchange these stones, documenting their journeys on social media.
Each stone is unique and has its own little story. It may contain a drawing, a word of encouragement, a quote, or a symbol of the place it comes from. Often, the back features the name of a group or a hashtag that allows tracking its further journey. It is a small gesture that connects people across borders and languages.
Participation in this activity also has a psychological and social dimension — it supports creativity, mindfulness, and a sense of gratitude, while bringing joy both to the creators and to people who happen to find such a stone.
At Milo Hotel, we are delighted to be part of this beautiful initiative. We encourage our Guests to watch out for colorful stones during their stay, and maybe even leave their own. It's a simple way to share kindness, inspire others, and make someone smile 😊
